Selank

TP-7

Each vial contains 10 mg of Selank.

Selank is a synthetic analogue of the immunopeptide tuftsin. The preclinical work examines GABAergic and monoamine signalling, serotonin among the transmitters measured; the clinical work covers anxiety models and generalised anxiety disorder trials. Most of it is published in Russian and has not been replicated outside that tradition. Registered as a medicine in Russia only — not in Canada, the United States or the EU.

How it works

A synthetic analogue of tuftsin, the tetrapeptide fragment of immunoglobulin G. That origin is why it is studied as its own compound rather than as the parent immunopeptide — the literature is about GABAergic and monoamine signalling after the fragment was extended.

  • Tuftsin analogue

    What it is

A seven-residue analogue of tuftsin, the Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg fragment of IgG. The molecule is studied as that analogue, not as the parent immunopeptide.

  • GABAergic signalling

    What the literature examined

Preclinical work on GABAergic signalling is the pathway literature. That is work in models, not a finding about anybody’s mood.

  • Monoamine / serotonin signalling

    Examined alongside

Examined alongside the GABA work: monoamine signalling, serotonin among the transmitters measured. Findings about those pathways are findings about the papers, not about a vial.

  • Anxiety models and GAD trials

    Russian clinical work

Animal anxiety models and generalised anxiety disorder trials make up the clinical literature. That work is concentrated in one country and one research tradition, and has not been widely replicated outside it.

Where the evidence stands

Registered as a medicine in Russia only. Not approved in Canada, the United States or the EU. The clinical literature is largely from that one tradition and is not widely replicated.
